ChatBody as an approach: ChatBody is a procedural metadata based online communication tool that can be defined as an approach to understand the reduction of “self” through the individuality of “online self” which is a self that emerges with the usage of CG perception and the change it causes through the understanding of this complicated communication process – where anonymity through the sameness causes the “words” carry not only the meaning of its “teller” but also the virtual character of its teller. There is nothing else !

ChatBody is directly about virtual time and virtual space: where time has a turn-based flow which causes a tricentenary understanding (because of the way “instant” messaging works) of what’s being “said” by the “other”; and where space is just an information-carrier for that person’s virtual-location. This kind of a communication removes everything but leaves what is being represented by “which” (in this case: “who”). In other words, ChatBody is a tool that gives you a virtual “body” which is a point that carries the metadata of your location, and what you “say” with your “letters”. This kind of a cognition is actually a re-cognition of “self” in that virtual space with its own “rules of communication”.

THIS PROCESS IS AN EMBODIMENT OF “SELF” INTO A DESIGN AND COMMUNICATION OBJECT.

This kind of a metadata based social proceduralism may be a starting point of another step into text based communication that we are bound to – until a full semantic workflow for digital-nature is formed.
